Barrel Roll outside Ballarat

Haven't been blogging for a while. Too many things going on. On top of my construction projects at work, I've got three other projects to juggle. So much so that all I want to do by the end of the day is vegetate.

Life keeps chugging along.

Speaking of chugging along, we were visiting a friend in Ballarat (that's out in the country) on tuesday (melbourne cup day) and on the way back, we kind of lived part of a Hollywood movie. A ute (Pickup) with a trailer was overtaking us when he lost control of the vehicle and started fishtailing (imagine a fish swimming) and I started slowing down. Foot ready on the brake.

A couple of seconds later, the ute and its trailer turned a funny angle and did a 360 degree barrel roll, about 30m in front of me. I was swerving like mad to avoid the debris that the car had kicked up from crashing, not to mention the building materials (wooden planks etc) that were on the back of the ute.

We got out and ran towards the car.

Thankfully the driver walked out unharmed and along with a few others, we cleared part of the road for traffic to keep moving along.

I drove VERY carefully home after that.

I'll be heading home in about a month's time. Missed a few friends' weddings but I'm glad to hear that the haze is gone. Will try and post more updates soon.
