A month in a minute.

Oops. This is turning out to be a once a month blog. I really should be writing more often shouldn't I.

Well, it's friday. Aside from 3 meetings so far, I've been pounding away on one task that's due on monday. So I'm going to stop for a minute and update my chronological record.

- Got a new (old) dog from the RSPCA. Her name is Lucy. She's an 8-year old fox terrier who's very VERY happy to see us all the time. Her tail's been docked so she only has a stump to wag and she wags it so hard she almost falls down a lot of the time. Will write a more detailed welcome lucy post later.

- Work's been nuts. Aside from my last project which was more intense, I've never been busier but it's nice to have control over what I'm working on. I've been given a fair bit of autonomy, and a broad scope to work on the things I think I should be doing - which is probably a first for me. Still waiting for my perm contract but aside from formally 'locking me in', not much is going to change.

- We went camping a few weekends ago - and we're going again this week. Shirley decided that it'd be fun to sleep outdoors and despite the hard ground, it was actually nice to be 'away from it all' for a while. Ginger came along and the three of us shared a 4 man tent. It wasn't the full-on rugged outdoor camping though. There were toilets and even an electric BBQ nearby but the one we're going this weekend seems to be less 'luxurious'.

- Cleaned out the garage last weekend. It's amazing how much junk one can accumulate over just 4 years. Some of it is going to the dump, others have been 'KIVed' for future disposal. I can't imagine what we'd do if we didn't have a garage.

- Building a sliding door for the patio. I used to think that if I lost my job or some how got allergic to office environments, I'd end up being a chef in an asian food stall at a food court. Now, I'm beginning to think that I'd be better off being a tradie/handyman instead. There's a certain sense of satisfaction in building some thing with your hands.

Coming up:
- Glen's dropping by ! at the same time as my Aunt, and my classmates from MBS ! Ultra-mega-spending-time-with-visitors ! Should be fun.

Also, I'll be back mid-dec. Taking a quick hopping holiday to China before spending x'mas and new years in Sing.

Gotta get back to work now.

Hope you'll have a good weekend ahead !
