Dumpster diving has become somewhat of a sport. While I'm all for the idea of recycling, eating food that someone threw out poses all sorts of issues. Still, there appear to be 'treasures' to be found.
Beiler has come home empty-handed some nights; on other trips, he's netted pounds of smoked salmon, full containers of lobster, several trays of sushi.
...
Beiler's "dumpstering mentor," ... used to be excited when he found gourmet cheese, but now he's come to expect it when he visits a high-end grocery store. He once found 40 unopened bottles of wine.
Food safety aside, other issues have suprisingly popped-up. One guy believes that people who can afford it shouldn't eat out of the dumpster because they'd deny the food to those who really need it - the homeless.
I'm feeling a bit under the weather, probably from exhaustion over the last weekend. Shirley's got plans for this weekend as well so I'm hoping to get over this bug by then and maybe play a round of golf with a friend.
