It's hard to relate how excited I am/we are about going to Falls creek again later today. It's our annual dose of serious fun and this time, I've got a lot of pent-up un-fun-ness to release :D

Couple of things to get out of the way.

My friend theresa put up some great pictures of the philippines on her blog.

Theresa's an inspiration to me because of how she's willing to give herself for a greater cause.

Click on the picture to check out her blog.

Also inspirational (although in another sense) is Felix and Anne, and their now 9-month old baby boy. His name is caleb and I've added his blog to my links :)

Check out this warm loving family

Last but not least, my morning news reading led me to a review about a book about George Soros and his way of thinking.

Choice extract :

"The open society concept "is built on the recognition that our understanding is imperfect, and that there is reality beyond our will." On one hand, Soros argues, the way we understand the world in large part depends on what preconceptions we bring to our inquiries and on what narratives we choose to follow and metaphors we employ to describe the world around us. That sounds pretty post-modern, but unlike the PoMos, Soros assumes that there is an objective reality out there that, although it defies complete description, can certainly prove us wrong."

In other words, he suggests that because we have such a imperfect understanding of our reality, an absolute perspective of certainty is dangerous beacause at some point, reality proves one wrong.

George Soros: The Humble Billionaire

The next time I post should be from Falls Creek if we're not too tired ! :P
