1. I had no idea there was a Singaporean referee in the world cup. Probably because there's been an overwhelming wave of emotions around the Australian team - the socceroos. (The aussies fought bravely but lost to a better 'performing' italian team.) Good for Singapore. We might not be able to get a team in the World Cup by 2010 but by gosh, we can referee it.
2. Israel is going ape over hamas (allegedly) crossing the border, killing two and kidnapping an israeli soldier. No one has been reported to have been hurt so far but Israel has already rounded up several cabinet members and flown warplanes over the Syrian president's home as a threat. This has such a huge potential to escalate into another war. But of course, it's the principle that counts.
3. Our house has been overrun by ANTS ! There're thousands of the little buggers crawling around everywhere ! Apparently, this particular type likes sweets and grease and because of the gold weather, they've been unable to farm their aphids driving them into our house ! Will provide updates on our battle with the insect invaders.
One more sleep and we're on the slopes !
P.s. This paragraph numbering system seems to be useful in making totally incoherent paragraphs seem to flow together. Maybe that's why civil servants use it with such regularity. Or maybe it just makes things look important by creating some sort of structure.
