Our house is back to normal. It seems a bit strange to be honest. Not having to worry about whether our guests are entertained, whether they've had enough to eat, to be concerned about their comfort, etc.

People really warm a house, and not just in a physical heat-emitting sense, but in adding life and laughter (especially laughter). I'm sure Shirley misses their company already.

Life moves on I guess. It's funny how different things are when we have relatives visiting, as opposed to having relatives around and available at any time back home - you really do see things differently when you change the context of the environment.

Heard Lamb's album - Between Darkness and Wonder.

There's a great song on it that somehow strikes a chord with me and I imagine I would have really liked it in my melancholic days. I normally don't like pasting lyrics but I'll make an exception seeing as I wouldn't be able to share the song with everyone. Listen to it if you get a chance.

So here you are, demons screaming in your head
You try to shut them out but they just get louder instead
And nothing you do can seem to break through
This darkness smothering you
When it takes hold, your heart turns cold
The very soul seeps out of you

Just when our house-hosting busy-ness has died down, we're starting to organise our outing onto the slopes (annual ski/snowboarding trip) at the moment. Getting excited just thinking about it. It's already started snowing ! Can't wait ! Have to pull off a jump successfully (i.e. not falling down) this year.

P.S. Again - Happy Belated Birthday Daph ! Sorry I missed it :P
