We r in ur ST, skoling ur reps.

Catching up with the news on my lunchbreak, I mentally 'tripped' when I came across this article in the ST.

Slow hiring at Big 4

...two of the Big Four - PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte - have indicated that the starting pay of newbie auditors will be reviewed.

"Newbie" ? Really ? in the ST ? I mean seeing "@" or "i" as a prefix for everything was enough of cyberculture spilling over into every language but "Newbie" ?

To be fair, a little googling uncovered that its roots extend far before Counterstrike and MMORPGs, but I'm willing to bet you'd be struggling to find any 65+ year old who understands what it means when you call someone "newbie".

Sorry for the lack of updates. As I mentioned previously, I've been pretty preoccupied with networking up my house. OVer the past month, I entered the next phase of populating said network drive with ridiculous amounts of content.

Also, in case you're wondering. Yes. We too have heard the reports about swine flu and it's terrible grip on Melbourne/Victorua. And remarkably similar to the F1, the collective response has been...

meh.

Maybe it's more us not-really-getting-fussed-about-it.. But this swine flu thing seems overrated. Before we'd even heard about it, probably a third of my office had already taken some sick leave from flu related issues. Apparently Australia has a really tough regime about screening which also explains some of the stats.

At the end of the day, we're fine. So stop worrying. :)
