The myer-briggs sort of categorisation helped this one in the credibility department though. Especially since the input was from the words on my blog.
Apparently, I'm a Mechanic.
ISTP - The Mechanics
The independent and problem-solving type. They are especially attuned to the demands of the moment are masters of responding to challenges that arise spontaneously. They generally prefer to think things out for themselves and often avoid inter-personal conflicts.
The Mechanics enjoy working together with other independent and highly skilled people and often like seek fun and action both in their work and personal life. They enjoy adventure and risk such as in driving race cars or working as policemen and firefighters.
Not sure about the last bit but I do tend to like thinking of myself as a problem-solver.
To beef up the credibility of this thing, I tried it out on the few blogs that I read regularly. Format is as follows. [Real Name](Real Job): Test Result
Tyler Cowen (Economist): Scientist INTJ
Joshua Gans (Economist): Scientist INTJ
Paul Krugman (Economist): The Duty Fulfillers ISTJ
Scott Adams (Cartoonist): Mechanics ISTP
Esther (Foodie): The Performers ESFP
Daphne (Mommy): The Performers ESFP
Theresa (Missionary): The Artists ISFP
If you've got a blog, I'd leave it to you to try it out. I suspect it only works on the text of the front page, but I guess it's as a good an indication as any free tool would provide.
