If you think I’m sporadic now, wait till I get on facebook.

See. That’s the thing. I’m actually AVOIDING going on facebook. If I can’t even find the time to blog, how could I navigate the minefield of cornucopic distractions that is facebook ? I know there’re things to poke, marketplaces to trade and friends to rate – but once I get started, I’ll have even less free time than I do now.

I guess part of the problem is that I usually only blog at work - And there’s a lot of work these days. At a client’s place about a year ago, I would have been having a nice leisurely 1.5 hr lunch followed by a stroll along the beachside community that is Port Melbourne. Nowadays I duck out to the nearest KFC where I’ve got some papers to review and 94 seconds to eat my lunch.

So what’s been happening in our lives apart from sir work-a-lot over here ? Not all that much actually. Can you believe we STILL haven’t watched Harry Potter ? We read the book in the first fortnight or so and it was good. But there’s not been a lot of excitement in our part of the world (well, not counting the stock market crashing). We had guests over a couple of days which was interesting. Having guests from back home always makes us think about ourselves differently. Not in a comparison ‘us vs them – who’s better’ sort of light – but more in a sense of ‘having perceived other people, how do we view ourselves’ kind of mentality.

Ginger’s good. I’ve been getting up early in the mornings to jog around the neighbourhood with her. It’s still pretty much in the dead of winter (Shirley left the house to go to work one morning and the thermometer showed 1 degree celcius!), so it’s actually quite nice to start the day by warming up with a jog.

Shirley’s cousin’s coming over next week to visit. It’s meant to be his first trip overseas so it’ll be interesting to be part of his ‘awakening’ that there’s a whole different world outside of his.

Been ipod-ing a lot in the car lately (just ‘cos I’ve been driving a lot between two different offices and home). Common’s new album is pretty good. I like the song with Lily Allen – should be a chart topper when it’s released. Can’t say the same for the Smashing Pumpkins although I haven’t really given them much of a chance yet (which I will – just for old times sake). Good Charlotte and Fall Out Boy are fun to sing to and just for good measure, a bit of Buble – although none of the tracks really stood out.

Ok enough of my 20 cent music reviews. Have to get back to work now.
