I was reading an article in New Scientist where they had 50 scientists predict advances in science in the next 50 years. What caught my eye reading the summaries was a piece by Dr Simon Baron-Cohen. Now if this name doesn't sound immediately familiar to you, Sacha Baron-Cohen is also known as "Ali G" or "Borat" which is currently the number 1 movie in the US.
Apparently, they're cousins.
Talk about different worlds.
Anyway, it was a farily quiet weekend, home, golf, shopping and gardening. Had a few plans to go places but they were blocked by a combined and ironic dose of laziness + outstanding chores/projects around the house. I'm happy to report that I hooked up most of the electrical stuff. I installed a sensor on my garage door to prevent it from closing down on someone/something, converted an in-car air purifier to work in my bedroom, and am almost done with trunking wires dangling from the phone to my ADSL and wireless router.
And I ordered a high-tech DIY alarm system which I'll work on installing this weekend. It's all wireless and rings up to 8 people when the alarm goes off. Cool as.
Think I've got some outstanding pictures to put up which I'll try to remember to do tonight. Right after I reduce my 'waiting list' of movies to watch. This weekend past I watched Fast and the Furious 3 (pretty cool), MI3 (Can see signature Abrams which was cool but Tom Cruise made it a bit campy) and Benchwarmers (Lame, but entertaining. Jon Lovitz is cool). Caught up on Desperate Housewives as well which is starting to get boring. Tonight it's gonna be The Castle (an ozzie comedy which my friend insists I must watch) and catch up on Lost.
