Shirley's cousin Angeline and her friends dropped by last week for a visit so we (mostly shirley) did the tourist circuit again. Queen Vic Market, Great Ocean Road, Horse Riding, Greyhound racing and the usual eating at our favourite places. :)
This horse riding trip was the first time we'd gone for a 'free and easy' ride since we started lessons. It was apparent how much more comfortable we were handling the horse, and understanding its mannerisms. Having said that, I'm still not comfortable kicking the horse as instructed by the trail rider, but the horse I rode, Alby, wasn't much of a listener, unless you showed him who's boss. Shirley's horse Tazzie seemed to be much more responsive to her.
Anyway, things quietened down after they left for the Gold Coast yesterday. Guests always bring such warmth to the house that it sems a little empty after they leave. Will put up pictures of our guests shortly.
Ah well. Back to our regularly-scheduled life. My family's coming over in a fortnight so I guess we're going to have a warm month.
An update on the bedhead : It's working out really nicely. After having had it for a week now, I'm already thinking of 'zhng-ing' it to add an amplifier for the speakers. First, I gotta install the reading light but I'm having trouble locating this one specific type of lightbulb that I need. Also starting to ponder on what else to build next.
