Could this be true ?

Diamonds are no longer a girl's best friend, according to a new U.S. study that found three of four women would prefer a new plasma TV to a diamond necklace.

I remember a few years ago, while I was contemplating popping the question to Shirley, I was thinking of whether or not a diamond ring was still relevant. Daphne and Gerry might remember this issue when we had a long email debate about the validity of Diamond ring pricing.

There's something about girls and diamonds but while I don't think that the study is accurate, I think it does highlight a growing trend.

During the short time I was back, I met up with a friend who'd recently gotten married to a gamer. His wife was so into gaming that at one point, the only way he managed to contact her when he accidentally locked himself out of the house, was to log on to his account from outside and send her a message via the online game to let him in to the house.

I don't know how much she'd appreciate a Plasma TV but I'm sure a dual-core alienware gaming machine would keep her happy. :)
