It was a somewhat uneventful weekend. Went to yoga, tried out a new yum-cha place (Tai pan is still better) and did more shopping for our house.
Shirley managed to pick up a new skill - sewing, and she's kick-started her career by sewing a t-shirt. What I was proudest of, wasn't so much her determination to deliver the final product, but that she worked it out without any instructions! Ordinarily, one would expect to take classes, watch an instructional video or at least read a 'how-to' article off the internet. Instead she took an existing t-shirt and reverse engineered how the components would come together, then she went to work. I attributed it to being in her blood as her mom used to make her school uniforms for her.
That aside, strangely, I wasn't looking forward to work this week. Not that I usually do, but I mean I'm usually somewhat neutral about it. Maybe it's because I know I'm working on a project for which I'm pretty sure I won't be able to deliver on the deadline without severly compromising the quality of the output. Or maybe it's because I'm also working on something else that requires me to add significant value to a research paper, and maybe in the longer run, even land me a better job.
"Ugh" The cry of the working slob.
Update: Deadline for above-mentioned project extended. Woo hoo ! Makes for easier juggling.
