Was reading an article about how Viagra isn't meeting the manufacturer's expectations.
"Less than 15% of the estimated 30 million men suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED) have tried one of the drugs."
Yet apparently some Wall Street Analysts speculated that Viagra alone would be a $4.5bn brand by 2004. This led me to a quick mental calculation. Assuming that the $4.5bn refers to annual turnover, they expected ALL 30 million men to each fork out $150 a year ? This seems a little overly-optimistic.
Strangely enough, this little exercise and my recent resume writing pointed out something else to me. If you go back long enough, my academic history has always been inclined towards quant stuff - engineering, math, science, etc. Yet in terms of interest, I've always geared towards the liberal arts - writing, advertising, etc.
Looking back at my grades this past year, the incline towards quant is still showing - Maybe I should have been an engineer huh :)
