Yay. Still having holidays. It's good to have a break, but I guess I'm kinda psyching myself up to get back into the rhythm once class starts again next week.
Met up with an old acquaintance (Vivek, for those who know... remember, the guy staying with yenni with that really cool old retro fridge ?)
Anyway, was nice to catch up and chat about how different people's lives have gone in different directions.
And on a related note, just now, while taking a walk with shirley, we were chatting about friendship and how it actually takes effort to maintain a friendship. This was in specific reference to people who've been good friends since primary/secondary school, and how along our life's journey we kinda have to pick who we want to stick with as friends.
Well, that got me thinking as well, that although I kinda wish that I had stayed more in touch with my friends from long ago (secondary school, mass comm, etc) I'm glad that I've grown to realise that it's one thing to have lots of friends, but it also takes effort to keep friendships, all the more so since I'm away from Singapore where I can just 'jio' people to go for a kopi.
So as an open apology to friends whom I haven't kept in touch with - "pai seh hor" :)
On a funnier note, I'm wondering now that Liverpool has 'apparently' accepted the Thai PM's bid, what kind of changes are there going to be ?
"Shinawatra - whose regime has been criticised by Amnesty International - declared a "war on drugs" last year and 2,245 suspected dealers died within three months. Officials said police had shot around 40 in self-defence while the rest died at the hands of rival gangs."
40 in "self defence ?" So the other 2,205 were in "their offence" ? :)
"Score an own goal, you DIE!"
